To celebrate National Cocktail Day, we’re recommending three classic cocktails you can try next time you stop in for a drink!

Try one of these classic cocktails next time you’re enjoying drinks in Nashua with us at Stella Blu.

Manhattan

This drink has been around since the late 1880s, but we don’t know its precise origins. Many stories claim to explain its origins, but all of them are probably apocryphal. Unlike other drinks like the Martini, the Manhattan’s basic ingredients and proportions have always been fairly specific and similar over the years. The ingredients are simple: 2 ounces of rye whiskey, 1 ounce of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of bitters. The garnish is either a brandied cherry or a lemon twist, depending on the bartender’s or drinker’s preference.

Negroni

The Negroni went viral a couple of years ago after House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy described a Negroni Sbagaliato with prosecco in an interview with co-star Olivia Cooke. While we all had fun trying to pronounce D’Arcy’s favorite drink on the internet for a few weeks, a classic Negroni is a drink that has lasted much longer than an online trend. As with most classic cocktails, the Negroni only requires a few ingredients: 1 ounce of gin, 1 ounce of Campari, and 1 ounce of sweet vermouth. Garnish with an orange peel for a delicious and classy drink.

Sidecar

If you like a cocktail with citrus flavors, the Sidecar should be your next drink order. It appeared in cocktail recipe books as early as 1922. Its bright color and refreshing flavor make it the perfect choice for warmer days. Once again, it has a short list of ingredients: 1 ½ ounces of cognac, ¾ of an ounce of orange liqueur, ¾ of an ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and an orange twist for garnish. To balance out the citrus flavors, the sidecar is sometimes served with a sugar rim.
